Recent news has stated that in couple of months from now, Andhra Pradesh will be very soon issuing phone numbers on its own as the state became first in the country to have obtained a telecom license and the telephone numbers of AP will start with ‘797’ and the state is also looking to an internet based telephone service.


The new plan is a part of the state’s Fibre Grid project and besides providing affordable net connectivity in every corner of the state and the state government is also looking to provide free telephone services within the region through internet.


The state is also considering to provide video calls as well over the internet and the state government has already announced providing interactive connections with digitized channels, internet, wi-fi and net telephony (triple pay IP boxes) at a basic cost of 149 per month.


The state is going to have about sub-stations which will have Points of Presence from where cable operators can take the optic fibre to households.This plan is a good start for the state to develop and to have growth and development at the earliest.
