The Home Ministry of India has called for a crucial meeting of Telugu States on 21st of June. This is pertaining to the division of assets and liabilities of those institutions under Schedule 9 and 10 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. This is an important situation.

Recently Supreme Court has ordered for these institutions to be divided in population ratio while Telangana government is planning to take over all of them. The court has asked the Center to intervene if this issue is not solved amicably in a period of two months.

There are about 142 institutions under this section which are all reportedly valued at 25000 Crore according to the current market value. In case this meeting resolves the issue according to court directive, Andhra Pradesh will get a breather from its severe financial crisis.

The Center too has only two months to resolve the issue. If the Telangana government is not willing to come forward, then the issue will reach courts once again. Hence this meeting on 21st is being seen as a game changer for Andhra Pradesh. Let us hope for the best.
