Chennai Police Commissioner has met press people and he said, "We investigated based on CCTV footage. Each and every house in Nungambakkam was inquired. During this inquiry we gathered lots of information. Swathi's family also cooperated with us. Despite their loss, they cooperated us to full extent.
I thank them for their cooperation. We cross checked details and that helped to nab the accused. We confirmed that he is from Tirunelveli and we immediately got help from Tirunelveli police. When they tried to arrest him, Ramkumar who panicked, took a sharp object and cut his throat.
Now he is being treated in Government hospital. A special inquiry team will make further proceedings. I would like to thank all Public, Media and Swathi's parents who cooperated with us." Later when press people asked few questions, Commissioner never responded.
Commissioner also said that Ramkumar is the only accused and there are no one else who accompanied him. He also denied to provide reports before media. Commissioner asked media to stay calm for few more days. Stay tuned for more updates.
