MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi who is renowned to make controversial statements to flare up communal tensions got shock when sedition charges are booked against him. It is known that Owaisi boasted that he and his party will provide legal aid to all the ISIS suspects arrested at various locations in Hyderabad couple of months back.
This triggered huge controversy and all political parties and right thinking persons opposed him. However owaisi continued his rant. K.Karuna Sagar, a practising advocate filed private complaint in the 11th Metropolitan Magistrate court and sought for directions to the police to register a case under section 124A (sedition) of the Indian Penal Code on Friday.
In his petition he accused that Owaisi's remarks will boost the morale of the anti nationals and terrorists. Deputy Commissioner of Police (L B Nagar Zone) Tafseer Iqubal registered sedition case against Owaisi and he said now the matter is in court and Saroornagar police have been directed to file the case by the court.
He said all procedures will be followed and a report will be submitted to the court after investigating the matter. Owaisi landed in many legal troubles following his controversial statements.
