Chennai sources have stated that six days after a postgraduate student of the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, hailing from Tirupur district, was found dead in his apartment, the demand for a CBI probe to ascertain the cause of his death grew.


Earlier on Friday medicos and members of the Tamil Nadu Government Doctors Association (TNGDA) have staged demonstrations in various parts of the State seeking a CBI inquiry into the death of Dr. Saravanan Ganeshan.


Meanwhile in New Delhi, Dr. Saravanan’s batch mates have launched a movement across social media with the help of friends and relatives to ensure that the truth behind their classmate’s death is revealed and that no culprit goes unpunished.


N. Ravishankar the district president of TNGDA, who has led a demonstration, has said Dr. Saravanan was a confident person and had never displayed suicidal tendencies and a doctor, has told that they want a CBI probe to unearth the circumstance in which he has died.
