When it involves certain policy decisions, there seems to be not much difference between the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana rulers. The TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu and the TRS boss Chandrasekhar Rao and their governments are trying for innovative methods.
This is being done to take their vision much more faster even as the opposition parties say this is nothing but plunder of the public money to benefit their favourite contractors. It is already known how Chandrababu Naidu is facing criticism in adopting the Swiss Challenge method.
This is being done to rope in a Singapore consortium for the construction of Amaravati, which will be the state capital and now Telangana CM KCR is also following Babu’s footsteps in adopting the same method for awarding irrigation projects to the state’s contractors.
KCR reportedly instructed his officials to follow the same method for irrigation projects such as Palamuru-Ranga Reddy project. This would mean those contractors who are favorites of KCR would reap huge benefits. Already the opposition is crying foul in Telangana state.
