Filmy Style: Crores Robbed from Running Train

Nearly Rs 5.78 Cr was robbed on Monday night from a moving train carrying the Reserve Bank of India's 342 crores of rupees and the robbers have drilled a hole, large enough for a man to enter, in the roof of the coach that contained the cash boxes. Forensic staff has checked along the railway tracks for clues but nothing was found.

It is stated that the boxes contained soiled currencies which was collected from several banks and it was being taken to Chennai to be handed over to the RBI and the currency notes valued at Rs 5.78 Cr was said to be stolen during this audacious heist.

It is suspected that the thieves might have carried out this daring crime between Salem and Vridhachalam, a 138-km stretch in the route, which was not electrified and presently it is suspected that the burglars might have received information and support from bank and/or railway officials.
