Sources from Hyderabad have stated that Wednesday's downpour in the city have inflicted a heavy collateral damage on citizens as thousands of vehicles conked out after being swept away in the swirling rain water and authorities have told people who had parked their cars outside homes and offices, had seen their vehicles floating on roads.
According to the Hyderabad traffic control room, over 2,000 calls related to break down of vehicles were received from Hyderabad and Secunderabad areas, while Cyberabad has recorded another 2,000 calls from many customers.
Meanwhile the flooded apartment cellars also left many vehicles damaged and the transport authorities have said another 1,000 to 1,500 breakdowns were reported by private towing services, and a few thousand vehicles have landed at private service centers.
Md Abdul Rashid, owner of Relief Towing Service has told that there are hundreds of towing services in the city and every single service was flooded with calls and he has got over 100 calls till Thursday morning from areas as far as Yapral, Malkajgiri and Habsiguda.
