People of Andhra Pradesh got huge shock when Union Government headed by PM Modi announced that special status cannot be accorded and instead announced special package.
Right after the announcement, all regional parties, be it the ruling TDP headed by Chandra Babu Naidu, YSRCP headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy,Congress, Communists and Pawan kalyan's Jana Sena, instead of fighting unitedly for the special status, started fighting for political gains.
While some supported special status, others supported special package and few others left the choice to the powers that be. Opposition parties announced AP bandh and right after it ran out of ideas. Chandra Babu decided to accept special package and then support any one who fight for special status.
BJP leaders decided to highlight the advantages of special package. In the midst of all this Telangana CM KCR's son KTR who along with his dad and other leaders of his party TRS, which successfully fought for the formation of Telangana, speaking to scribes said Special Status issues has become game of thorns in AP.
He said it has become battle of political one upmanship and none of them in AP have clarity on special status and special package and what the state wants. He said Pawan Kalyan may be a good man personally but he lacked political maturity.
He said AP fight for special status is no match to the Telangana agitation led by KCR for 14 years. He said people of Telangana voluntarily joined the movement while political leaders i nAP are settling scores with YSRC trying to gain upper hand over the TD and BJP, the Jana Sena trying to gain an upper hand over the YSRC. While Jagan is trying to settle scores with Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan is trying to overtake Jagan.
