India may well be a country of democracy and secularism but the way the caste system has taken deep roots into the society the entire structure has rotted. The caste card is being exploited to the maximum by the crooked politicians and yet again it has saved the skin of a man who has committed an offence.
He is the former minister Shankar Rao. Till date, many knew him as an MLA, a controversial statement giver, a minister etc but recently his name was listed as the prime accused in a major land scam. Shankar Rao got arrested and many thought that there is still some law and order in the society.
But within no time, some groups came forward citing that Shankar Rao was targeted because he was a Dalit and using the caste card they created a fear factor. Only at this moment did Shankar Rao’s caste background was discovered by few. Within no time, the case got subsided, Shankar Rao went into hospital. And what happens to the victims? Only God can solve their woes.
