It is more or less an open secret that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which is considered a highly regarded institution got corrupted and spoiled due to political intervention. Today the situation is such that the ruling party orders and the CBI executes the order.
Yes, to an extent it may be right. But terming the entire organization as a puppet to the government is not a right thing to do. There are many political opponents of congress who are calling CBI as Congress Bureau Of Investigation and alleging that the department has lost its code of conduct and acting mechanically with instructions from above.
This is not actually true. It could be that a few officers from the department might be succumbing to political pressure and acting accordingly but CBI is a huge ocean and there are many honest and sincere officers who are ready to do anything for the betterment of society. Maybe they should bring some wrongdoers to justice and that’s going to silence all the critics of CBI.
