Though YSRCP leaders don’t admit it openly, it is a fact that there have been some backchannel negotiations going on between two parties to bring Jagan back into the Congress fold, so that the Congress can have a smooth sailing even in 2014 elections and retain power.  This strategy is being largely carried forward by MP Sabbam Hari and Rajya Sabha leader KVP but things have reportedly reached a deadlock with Jagan refusing to merge his party with the Congress, due to an apprehension that all the gains made will be frittered away and it will be suicidal for both him and the Congress party.  Analyst say that with the changing political scenario in Delhi after DMK’s exit, time is closing down for a possible deal between the parties because even for YSRCP only Jagan’s release can help galvanize party for a possible mid-term poll.
