Many are wondering whether Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, will emerge winner in his fight against RSS saga. It is known that Rakul Gandhi early stated that RSS killed Mahatma Gandhi in a election rally in Bhiwandi in 2014. Right after that Rajesh Kunte, RSS functionary slapped criminal defamation case against him for the remark.
The Bhiwandi court granted bail to Rahul Gandhi on a personal bond of Rs 15000.During that time Rahul Gandhi appealed the court to schedule the hearing on Jan 20, the day when Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated in 1948.
Rahul decided to face the trail as an accused in the defamation case, submitting before the Supreme Court that he stood by "every word" of his statement.
Rahul Gandhi took this decision after the Supreme Court t refused to interfere with the criminal proceedings pending against him before the trial court. Rahul then withdrew his petition against the Bombay High Court judgement seeking to quash the defamation case and summons issued. Rahul will now attend the court today in few hours from now.
