The former President of the Samajwadi Party Mulayam Singh gave a huge shock by asking his party men to file papers for the 105 constituencies where congress men have already been fielded. This came after day of Mulayam expressing his unhappiness with the coalition.
"What will our workers do on those 105 seats? They have all worked hard, what will happen to them now. This is not right, I will not let the party be destroyed like this," the Samajwadi Party patriarch said.
With Mulayam's move congress once again fell into defence. If this is the case congress have to face Mulayam's men in the remaining five phases as the date to withdraw the nominations for the first two phases has ended. Netaji also made clear that he would not campaign for the coalition and said that he established the party and fought a life time battle against congress.
Mulayam said that he is still trying to convince his son Akhilesh Yadav going against the alliance. On Sunday, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav took out a joint roadshow in Lucknow after addressing a joint press conference.A furious Mulayam trashed the alliance and said it was "most unfortunate" that Akhilesh Yadav had done so in his quest to grab power.
