Power Star Pawan Kalyan, chief of Jana Sena enjoys sensational fan following. Pawan Kalyan in order to strengthen his party before 2019 elections addressed various meetings. Despite the party not having any cadre and bereft of leaders and lacking proper support base, all the meetings were well attended.
People infact thronged the meetings showing the power of Pawan Kalyan's fan following. However recent meeting at Chenetha Iykya Garjana programme attended by Pawan Kalyan turned out to be a failure. Lack of response to Pawan Kalyan's presence at the meeting surprised all and this became the taking point among the political circles.
The meeting highlighted the political agenda of Jana Sena and failed to address the problems faced by the handloom workers or weavers’ issues.Though the program was earlier named as Padmashali Garjana, Pawan changed it to Chenetha Iykya Garjana to avoid any caste references.
Though 17 other sub-caste people to participate in the programme, no one turned up in the programme. Not many came to attend the meeting at Mangalagiri. Though police expected 20000 people, very few people came.
Padmashali Aikya Pradhikara Vedika president KAN.Murthy says “Now with Pawan as our brand ambassador, the political aspirations started blooming. What the TD and YSRC could not do for weavers so far, Pawan Kalyan’s support achieved much more than that. We are satisfied.”
However Mahender Reddy, Jana Sena vice-president says “It is not a public meeting to show the strength and the programme was not organised by the Jana Sena. But Pawan Kalyan, with utmost sincerity, had attended the programme to address weavers’ issues.”
