Meanwhile, a team of AIADMK MPs backing Mr. Panneerselvam submitted a representation to President Pranab Mukherjee, calling for an investigation into Jayalalitha’s death. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, AIADMK Rajya Sabha Member V. Maitreyan contended that there were still “doubts” in the minds of people as well as AIADMK cadre as to whether Jayalalitha’s death was natural.

Dr. Maitreyan had said that "As her residence had a mini ICU-like set-up, Amma used to make use of it. When she was hospitalized at Apollo, it was said that she had dehydration. The first spark of doubt comes there, especially when she had a hospital-like set-up at her own residence".
