When young turks of SP and Congress, Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi forged an allaince, many analysts predicted big gains for them. However much to the shock of everyone, UP Ke Ladke as Rahul and Akhilesh boasted failed to make any impact.
Though five states went to polls, all eyes are on Uttar Pradesh and with almost all exit polls predicting sweep for Modi-Amit Shah's BJP, many are wondering why UP Ke Ladke failed in their mission.

Akhiesh's performance claims had no takers. He coined the slogan Kaam Bolta Hai which Modi effectively countered with Karnaama Bolta Hai. In 2007 BSP's Mayawati formed social engineering with Dalit-Brahmin formula and SP repeated it with Yadav-Muslim formula in 2012. BJP did it with Non Yadav OBC and Non Jatav SC formula.
Infighting in SP ahead of elections dented its image. The Combined share of SP and Congress stood at 42.5% but the exit polls predicted only 30% vote share.
PM Modi's BJP campaigned in such a way that Rahul-Akhilesh's tango will not have a success ride. Rahul and Akhilesh came with slogan UP Ko Ye Saath Pasand Hai but certainly voters refused to shake hands with them.
