D Day has finally arrived for all parties national and regional as counting will start in couple of minutes in Uttar Pradesh,Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand and Manipur. Stakes are high for BJP,Congress, SP,BSP etc as the elections are seen as virtual semi finals before the 2019 elections.
BJP already planned for massive celebrations as almost all exit polls and earlier pre polls predicted lotus blossoming in four states. Only in Punjab it is expected to get huge shock while in Uttar Pradesh it is expected to sweep.
In the meantime Amit Shah,BJP president already held meetings with RSS top brass to decided on the chief ministerial candidates for the states. He met RSS leader Bhaiyya Joshi in Mumbai.
If BJP sweeps Uttar Pradesh, it will be deathknell to PM Modi's critics and all opposition parties. This will also boost BJP in the upcoming presidential elections. President Pranab Mukherjee's term ends on July 25. Uttar Pradesh sends 31 members to the Upper House where the BJP is currently in minority.
Rahul Gandhi, Congress Vice President is confident of SP-Congress victory and even pointed how exit polls went wrong in Bihar assembly elections. Akhilesh Yadav even sent signals that SP and BSP should unite to keep BJP away.
