It is known that BJP for long has been trying to make its presence felt in dravidian state of Tamil Nadu. However despite its best efforts it couldn't do much due to the powerful regional parties DMK led by Karunanidhi and AIADMK led by Jayalalithaa. However Jayalalithaa's demise opened new gates for BJP and is leaving no stone unturned to make its mark felt.
Infighting and cracks in AIADMK and corruption cases on DMK leaders give opportunity for BJP to win the hearts of the Tamil Tambis. Pon Radhakrishnan, Union Minister for State Road Transport, Highways and Shipping speaking to scribes said The BJP’s stunning performance in the northern states will reflect in Tamil Nadu too. The party's winning streak will be repeated in the local bodies elections and in the coming Assembly and Parliament elections,”
He added “People voted the BJP for development. No other PM in India has taken development on fast track mode as our Modiji did.” He then came with a sensational statement saying “The next Assembly election will see non-DMK and non-AIADMK, party emerge to the fore to rule the state and our BJP is working in that direction. Tamil Nadu will see BJP rule and not Kazhagam rule in future,”
