TDP chief Chandababu Naidu’s innovative cash prize scheme to enthuse party workers and leaders in panchayat polls has earned criticism of violating election model code of conduct . His announcement of cash incentives for best perfrming party leaders and workers has earned wrath of congress men.
Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar says the move by TDP is against spirit of election code to declare a cash prize (monetary incentive) for those who win more Sarpanch polls. Naidu had announced it as a novel measure to enthuse party workers and leaders to actively participate in campaign and win more panchayat sarpanch seats.
Congress MP plans to lodge a complaint with the state election commission on the issue. It is said that ‘auctioning ‘ of sarpanch posts by declaring unanimous candidates is more rampant in the Karimnagar district .Of nearly 900 sarpanch posts in district over 250 are likely to be declared after auctioning as unanimous with the intervention of factions , Maoists and Politicians
