•  Narayana Reddy, the 85-year-old poet-author-writer-lyricist passed away today.He died due to health complications.This great poet is a Jnanpith awardee. The death of the 85-year-old poet-author-writer-lyricist and former Rajya Sabha member was consoled by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

  • About the poet: Born in Hanumanjipet, in Rajanna Sircilla district on July 29, 1931, Dr. C Narayana Reddy was also well-versed in Urdu. He also served as vice-chancellor of Telugu University

  • Achievements: Narayana Reddy is known for his poetic meaningful lyrics for a large number of songs that he penned for Telugu films songs have been a huge hit. For the last few years, he was away from the film industry due to his weak health condition. Narayana Reddy, who graduated from Osmania University, went to earn honorary doctorates also. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan also.His excellent rhyming skills got him an individuality, Reddy wrote several books, including the composition of poems like Karpoora Vasantha Rayalu and Nagarjuna Saagaramu. He was given the Jnanpith in 1988 for his much-lauded work "Vishwambara".Reddy complained of chest pain in the morning and was rushed to a private hospital where he breathed his last.The Telugu film industry has condoled his death.
