Heavy rains were pouring since early morning has left several important locations such as Sion, Dadar, Matunga, Hindmata, Andheri and JVLR, Powai extremely flooded. The BMC pressed around 79 pumps were used in the draining service.
Mumbai will also witness a high rainfall at around 2.30pm. A high tide of 4.81m along with heavy rain will increase the chances of extreme waterlogging in several low-lying areas. On Sunday, tide levels soared high to around 4.97m along with heavy pouring rain.
According to the dats collected from various weather stations it reveals that Mumbai received 10-14 mm rainfall between 12 pm and 1 pm.Mumbai received heavy showers over the long-weekend adding 91 thousand million litres of water in the lakes. The Weather forecast has predicted and announced heavy rains for Tuesday and Wednesday too.This has lead to the delay of trains.According to BMC reports, 10 locations (6 in the eastern suburbs and four in the island city)witnessed flooding.
