Sources from New Delhi have added that Delhiites in need of urgent surgeries at government hospitals need not worry about dates anymore as they can get them done sooner and for free at 48 listed private hospitals in Delhi-NCR. The bills will be sent to the Delhi government, irrespective of their economic status, can get life-saving surgeries like heart bypass, kidney stones removal, prostrate surgery, thyroid, cataract etc, and will be done at these hospitals.
Sources have stated that there will be no cap on the amount of bills. Patients will not be asked for income proof, but they will have to be residents of Delhi.
Meanwhile the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said
that "if a patient doesn't get a date for surgery at a government hospital
within one month, the hospital would refer him to private hospitals and the
government would pay all the expenses". This announcement was made to
ensure people gets best health services and to have awareness about it.
