Beijing sources have reported that a Chinese state run newspaper that typically trades in attacking Delhi yesterday stated that India is becoming more attractive to international investors and praised the landmark tax reform GST pushed through by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Meanwhile the Global Times reported that "As low cost manufacturing is gradually moving away from China, it is now critical for India and even the world whether it can replace China as the next 'world's factory".
Furthermore it stated that "Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Make in India' initiative in September, 2014, the Indian government has been making aggressive efforts in unifying the country as a whole, with the aim of building it into an attractive manufacturing destination for global businesses."
Meanwhile the PM talked informally with Chinese President Xi Jinping last
week in Germany at the G20 summit amid the heaving tension at the Sikkim
border. Moreover China has said for any dialogue or attempt at resolution,
India must pull back its soldiers.
