In a stunning performance in the panchayat polls the Jagan party had bagged the 1212 seats and shocked the state congress leaders who ignored the record win of 1807 seats by the TDP. With results awaited in over 468 seats the congress had bagged only 1617 in the first phase of polling for the 6566 panchayat seats held today.
