Indian PM Modi came to Chennai to attend the centenary function of Dailythanthi. He was welcomed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister EPS and he discussed the current situation of Chennai and he sought assistance from the central government for relief and rehabilitation work.

He also told PM about a plan to construct a drainage network to avoid the flooding in Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Tiruvallur. Modi also discussed with deputy Chief Minister OPS and other officials. Modi inspected some of the areas from the helicopter and he recalled he did the same during the 2015 floods.

However, the big question is will Modi provide the adequate funds as requested by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister? During 2015 floods, the central send a committee and they inspected and mailed a report and finally, they were provided with 1/3rd of the relief funds. Will the same happen? So far, 14 persons have lost their lives due to these heavy rains.
