The 25-Year-Old Hadiya has been making headlines for the past few days as she wants her freedom and she wants to return to her husband Shafin Jahan. The case which came for hearing ordered her to complete her Education and she has been taken out of her parent's custody.
The court ordered her to return immediately to Sivaraj Homoeopathic Medical College in Salem, where she will complete the rest of her course which would take 11 more months. As she just completed one month, 10 more months are remaining. Hadiya's father Ashokan said,
"We are happy that she is going to continue her studies. There is no marriage as of now. We are happy that she will be sent to the hostel for the completion of her studies." At the same time, PV Dinesh, who is the lawyer for State's Women's commission said it was an incorrect reading of the court's words and she was not prohibited from being with Shafin Jahan.
The Court also ordered the Government of Tamil Nadu to provide necessary protection for her at the college and the college Dean will be responsible, as her guardian. This case will come again for a hearing by the third week of January.
