A student of a Kerala based school was suspended on the grounds of his misbehavior with a girl of the same school. A private school's student, studying 12th standard, hugged his junior, a girl studying 11th standard to congratulate for her achievement, but the school management considered this as an act of lust extending a long time, and suspended the boy from the school for 5 months, since June.
With the boy being suspended for more than 5 months, the student appearing for the 12th standard public examination is under threat, and the parents of the boy have decided to approach the court to seek help. Though children's rights commission had told the school to join the students back, the high court canceled the order stating that school has all rights to suspend or take action in case of misbehavior by students.
The student had said that he had hugged the girl only for a span of few minutes, while the school management had complained that he hugged for more than 5 minutes besides also posting it on Instagram. The girl too said that he had hugged only a few minutes but the school is against her and is degrading her. Meanwhile, the boy's dad has resigned from his job to fight for justice for his son, and now the case awaits a decision by the central education ministry.
