According to sources Revanth Reddy, who addressed his first press conference as a Congress leader, chose to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP and quite surprisingly, not Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the TRS.
Earlier on Tuesday, he said the Prime Minister had stooped to the lowest level by leveling crass allegations. He said the Prime Minister represents the whole nation and should have behaved in a dignified manner. He said that while he was the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee could have won the vote of confidence, if he could get an MP to cross over to his side but, he chose not to do that. Presently both Modi and Amit Shah have resorted to unethical practices to win the elections.
Furthermore he said Rahul Gandhi behaved in a dignified manner and has
ensured that the Congress will emerge as a very strong Opposition with 80
seats. He said the BJP's popularity in Gujarat was down because Modi and Shah
encouraged defections just as KCR did in Telangana. Modi's BJP had lost in his
home town of Vadnagar, Revanth pointed out and adding that Advani did not
congratulate the BJP till now.
