According to sources Madhapur police has registered a criminal case against Verizon Data Services India (VDSI) pvt Ltd for unleashing the bouncers on employees and extracting resignations from them. Earlier the layoffs had begun in Bengaluru on November 15 where 500 people were been told to leave in Chennai and over 200 in Hyderabad on December 12 and 13.
Meanwhile the employees had alleged that the bouncers and counselors were present in the room when they were summoned to meet HR and were also asked to leave based on a management decision. Previously a petition was filed with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) against the alleged inhuman practices which is been adopted by companies while laying off the employees.
Moreover when
speaking to media Verizon’s spokesperson said ‘They are doing only role
rationalization not to meet a specific number but to match the talent with the
requirements of the business for its mere future’.
