In the case of the mysterious death of Judge Loya, a new strange happening took place, as the BJP leader Amit Shah's lawyers appeared for both the petitioner as well as the Maharashtra government side, leading to a huge controversy. In the Sohrabudeen encounter case, as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, the CBI court was instructed to inquire Amit Shah, considering him as the main accused.
The CBI court judge Loya had issued an order to Amit Shah to appear whenever required for inquiry. However in 2014, judge Loya passed away, and Amit Shah was acquitted from Sohrabudeen encounter case, leading to suspicions in the death of Judge Loya. While two petitions were filed to inquire the mysterious death of Loya, even before the case began, two petitions were filed at Supreme Court, by a press reporter Lone.
While advocate Harish Salve had appeared for
Maharashtra government, Advocate Pallav Sisodia had appeared for Lone. The
strange feature of this is that, both these lawyers had appeared for Amit Shah
during Judge Loya's inquiry period, and today they are on his opposite side.
