While the winters are still going good in most parts of Andhra Pradesh, the AP TDP leaders are raising temperatures both at the Centre and the State. They are going at head-on with the BJP led-NDA. The TDP came back with a strong counter, given the Centre’s prejudice toward Andhra Pradesh in the 2018-2019 Budget. While The Telugu Desam Party leaders are protesting outside the Parliament by shouting anti-BJP slogans and asking to save Andhra Pradesh, the oppositions came lashing at the Honorable Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman, Venkaiah Naidu, demanding Special Status to Andhra Pradesh.
The recent developments in the national capital are changing the political equations in many states. With BJP already facing a setback in Gujarat (morally), and losing the recent by-elections in Rajasthan, it is evident that BJP too will meet the same fate Congress met after AP bifurcation. The Centre’s prejudice towards Andhra Pradesh is sending warning bells to other states, where BJP is trying to gain a foothold.
It is learnt that AP CM Chandrababu Naidu overseeing the whole drama taking place in and out of the Parliament.The call from Home Minister Rajnath Singh last evening definitely failed to calm Chandrababu.
With 2019 elections ahead, TDP is making sure that its anti-BJP and pro-Special Status (for AP) is well covered both in the national and state media. Meanwhile, political pundits expressed that, TDP’s drama outside the parliament, is a part of a political game played by BJP and TDP.
