Hyderabad sources have stated that India's leading biotechnology and pharmaceutical company Biocon will soon establish a dedicated research and development (R&D) centre in Hyderabad and will also expand its existing operations. Meanwhile the company Managing Director Kiran Mazumdar Shaw told while speaking at the CEO's Round Table in BioAsia conference being held at HICC here. The round table was moderated by IT and industries minister of Telangana K T Rama Rao.
According to sources the CEO's Round Table saw, apart from Biocon MD, heads of Novartis, Merck and GE also participating along with KTR. Meanwhile during this talk, Shaw announced that Biocon's R&D centre will come up at Genome Valley in Hyderabad and said that around 1000 high skill job opportunities would be created through this centre as well as existing Biocon in Hyderabad will double its manpower.
