Residents of Mumbai's famous Worli locality, are planning to burn a 58 feet effigy of the fraud jeweler Nirav Modi, as a part of Holi celebrations, as they firmly believe, Holi is a festival and an occasion to let go of bad things. The residents of Worli's PTT residency area have designed a 58 feet effigy of Nirav Modi, in an attempt to celebrate Holi in a new way this year.
It’s a common belief that applying colors on each other and celebrating Holi is a way of letting go of the bad and praying for good to reach the lives of everyone around. Besides, it is also a common practice to burn tree logs, and with the belief that the evils get burned to ashes. For the past 8 years, every year the people of Chawal celebrate Holi with the focus on any social issue of the time.
In the same way, this year, they
have designed an environment friendly effigy of the jeweler who defrauded
Punjab National Bank of more than 11400 crores, Nirav Modi, using tree
logs, and light weight particles. They said that Nirav modi is an evil force,
and burning his effigy on occasion of Holi is their way of chasing out his
evilness around. The residents of Worli also aim to enter Limca book of records
with this feat.
