While the latest cover picture of the popular Malayalam magazine Grihalakshmi has been making waves, gaining positive feedback and response, for its daring and bold presentation of a breastfeeding model, the troubles have been arriving towards them as well. A case has been filed by an advocate, for coming up with such a themed cover, on the magazine, as well as the actress/ writer Gilu Joseph who posed on the magazine cover.

The case was filed by Advocate Vinod Maththew Wilson, in the Kollam court of Chief Judicial Magistrate. As the bold cover, with its striking caption "Mothers tell Kerala: Don't stare, we want to breastfeed" has become an instant hit thanks to the social media and the spreading of the cover pic viral, the advocate has argued that the picture is lewd and obscene, degrading women, adding that this is a punishable crime under sections 3 and 4 of Indecent Representation of Women act , 1986.

However, the actress Gilu Joseph said that she doesn't care, and she added that it was a privilege that only mothers have, to breastfeed, and she had no apprehensions appearing on the cover of Grihalakshmi. She also questioned the views of people who view the cover under the sexual context, and also reportedly had gone against her family to pose for the magazine. Gilu said that a month ago a man had shared a picture of his wife breastfeeding in public places, which ultimately lead to cyber bullying, and hence the team had made the cover as a tribute to breastfeeding mothers
