According to sources for the past few days reports were rife that Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi would be the new Andhra Pradesh Governor. Meanwhile the LG while addressing media quashed the news and said disarmingly that she will continue to be the LG of Puducherry putting down the rumors to rest.

Kiran said “The programs she have taken up here are yielding results and becoming successful, so I will continue to serve here till I complete my term and moving to other states is nowhere near”. Accordingly the Congress party which was soaring high that Bedi will be taking the anointment as AP Governor was highly disappointed after listening from the horse’s mouth.

Further it may be recalled that in the past, Bedi had a face off with V Narayanasamy-led Congress government in the Union Territory, wherein the latter accused Bedi of interfering “too much” in the government matters. To this, Bedi said she is "not a rubber stamp" and that she is performing her duties as an administrator. Furthermore she said people of the Union Territory have a "right to seek justice" and therefore they were approaching her and she was holding regular grievance redress meetings for them.
