In the recent case of the death of a Salem girl following an abortion involving a fake Doctor, it has been revealed that she was sexually abused by her own brother. On March 31, a 19 year old college girl from Salem District, Omalur's Bommiyampatti, had passed away at the Salem Government Hospital.
On the first round of investigation, it was reported that the girl had visited a fake Doctor named Sultana, belonging to Nadupatti, to remove her pregnancy, as she had got pregnant after an illegitimate affair, and the operation conducted by Sultana had resulted in her death. Sultana was arrested, and it was believed that the college girl must have been raped by another college student.
While the police of Theevattipatti police station had conducted numerous rounds of investigations, the girl's parents had revealed a shocking truth that, the girl was not sexually abused by any other college student, but by their own son, her brother. It was said by her parents that it was her brother Harish, a BSc Nursing student who had raped her, and as they feared shame, they had took her to Sultana for the abortion. Harish is currently being investigated, and it has been said that he must have given her sleeping pills and raped her. Following such a shameful family crime, the people of Salem are shell shocked.
