The Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made a visit to Chennai for the defense expo organized by the defense ministry. Amidst huge controversy, and protests, the Prime minister had made this visit, and reached Mahabalipuram in a helicopter, after initially landing in the Chennai airport.
From Mahabalipuram, the PM went to Thiruvidandhai via road. In an attempt to improve the defense artillery, and to increase the export of them to other countries, the 10th defense expo has been conducted in a grand manner in Chennai. Defense equipments from 47 countries have been exhibited in the grand expo.
Modi had reached Chennai from Delhi,
via flight, and he was received by the Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Chief
Minister Eddapadi Palanisamy, Deputy CM O Panneer Selvam and chief secretary
Girija Swaminathan. There were protests all over the state against Modi's visit
to Chennai, without looking into the formation of Cauvery Management board, and
#GoBackModi was trending on the top today with millions of tweets.
