Govinda ,Govinda . The fortnight long agitation in Seemandhra has not benefited any one including Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala .TTD officials say that the Hundi collections and the pilgrims footfall since last MOnday the peak of agitation had been the lowest of the four decades .
While the powers at Delhi and Hyderabad are playing a ‘waiting game’ Lord Venkateshwara at Tirumala is at the receiving end . Tirumala Balaji was the first one to get affected by agitation for united AP. Buses were stopped in Tirumala to Tirupati route for the first time after 38 years on last Tuesday and Wednesday . But after observing devotees problems, agitators have agreed to permit 60 buses to Tirumala from Tirupati in limited number on Thursday.The number of footwalkers from daily 20,000 has shot up to 35,000 and the TTD is entertaining due to less rush at Tirumala.
But number of devotees visiting Tirumala has decreased in the wake of wide spread agitations. As a result, Lord Venkateshwara’s income has drastically come down in the past three to four days. While 65,000 to 75,000 devotees visit Tirumala daily, in the past three days only 45,000 devotees have visited. While Rs 2.82 crores and Rs 2.92 crores was Srivari Hundi income on last Saturday and Sunday respectively, it was just Rs 1.45 crore on Wednesday and Rs 1.35 crore on Thursday. Govinda..Govinda.. What more food for 25,000 persons is wasted and over one lakh laddu prasadam is left unsold . On top the pilgrims are happy that they get a minimum 5 minutes darshan of Balaji , rather than earlier 5 seconds in the past.
