According to report without directly referring to the Supreme Court ruling in the Justice Loya case, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi targeted BJP president Amit Shah with this succinct remark "the truth has its own way of catching up with people like him". Meanwhile Rahul's statement was in reaction to the apex court's dismissal of a batch of PILs demanding an SIT probe into the circumstances surrounding special CBI judge BH Loya's death in 2014.

Accordingly a bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud held that there was absolutely no merit in the petitions and said Loya died of "natural causes". Furthermore Rahul Gandhi took to twitter to say "Indians are deeply intelligent. Most Indians, including those in the BJP, instinctively understand the truth about Mr. Amit Shah. The truth has its own way of catching up with people like him."
