In an extremely shocking and disturbing incident in Assam, a newly married girl was brutally raped by her husband and his 2 friends, as the girl's family could not satisfy the dowry demands of the bridegroom's family. A criminal case has been registered against the husband, who belongs to Karimganj district of South Assam, and the cops have arrested him.
The police are also on the lookout for the two others who had raped the wife, and the whole incident was exposed only after the girl was admitted to a hospital in an extremely critical state. According to the statement of the victim, her husband had asked for gold jewelry, and following her family's inability to pay the dowry, he raped her along with his friends on April 17, just 3 days post her marriage.
The FIR against the culprits was
lodged on April 22, and now, a team is on the hunt for the other two accused
who had raped the bride. While this is just one case of sexual abuse, there have
been numerous cases of sexual abuse registered on a daily basis from different
parts of the nation.
