Accordingly Jagan's much-hyped statement in Nimmakuru to rename Krishna district as NTR district might have struck a chord with NTR's die-hard fans and initially considered as a wise, smart move by political analysts, but the ground reality is far away from the above perception. Meanwhile the districts such as Krishna, Godavari districts are named after rivers and that has been significant in flourishing life of people and has direct connection with rivers.
Meanwhile Krishna district is one such auspicious name. It has been there since ages and so its Pushkaralu that are quite famous. Moreover it also has divine connection with Indrakeeladri temple, its deity Goddess Durga. Meanwhile initially Jagan was hesitant and it was Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani who convinced Jagan to make such statement by tempting him with the votes of NTR fans and that community.
Further in fact, Telugu Desam Party that was
founded by NTR had promised to rename Gudivada as NTR district if new districts
are formed. Media reports after taking a leaf out of it, YSRCP's move to rename
entire Krishna district as NTR district may certainly get opposition from
majority of district people.
