A complaint has been filed with Chennai Commissioner AK Vishwanathan for the portrayal of Women, LGBT community, and homosexuals in a derogatory manner in the recently released Tamil movie Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu directed by Santhosh Jayakumar. The complaint was filed LGBT activist Apsara reddy, and Chennai Dost, an LGBT organization.
The team has also decided to meet the Tamil film producers council's head Vishal, demanding an apology from the film's lead actor Gautham Karthik for the vulgar content portrayed in the movie. Released last week, the so called adult comedy movie has been ridiculed and criticized on all corners, for its crass content, and for the awkward portrayal of a homosexual character, while degrading a gay relationship as well.
The film also speaks ill of gays, and womenfolk in
general, objectifying them in all possible ways. Apsara Reddy has said that
such films deserve a ban, as they lead to crimes against people of the LGBT
community. IAMK also projects the rape of a man by a homosexual, further adding
to the troubles. Apsara has been particularly angry over the actor Gautham
Karthik for inciting wrong thoughts among youth through such movies.
