The TDP MLC, Buddha Venkanna has been criticized by the political fraternity, for his derogatory remarks against YSRCP MLA and former actress Roja in a press meet days back. It was said during the press meet by Venkanna that Roja, the Nagari Legislator did not have shame. Venkanna had also added that she had acted even in blue films, while also trying to tarnish her image, projecting her as woman of no morals, by adding that she had attended press conferences after alcohol consumption.
All this was happening when the TDP leader and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had been participating in a march to protect womenfolk, titled Aadabiddaku Rakshaga Kaduludam. The political leaders are against the comments made by Venkanna, and have said that though Roja is always aggressive, it was not right to get personal and make derogatory comments.
Activists have come down heavily against the
comments, stating that it has become easy for men to target women, questioning
it was Roja's right to drink or not, and what right Venkanna has to speak of
that, while also explaining the pains faced by women in political arena. It all
started when Venkanna had said in a press meet that youngsters are watching
Roja's jabardasth program on TV, and her blue films on web, that have impacted
Telugu culture as well as spoiling minds of youngsters. This talk by Venkanna
happened after Roja had earlier insulted Chandrababu Naidu.
