Ahead of the Karnataka State Assembly elections scheduled to be held on May 12, the BJP Party has released its election manifesto.  The party has included public friendly government, improved transportation facilities, and increasing the greenery of the city. Bengaluru South MP Ananth Kumar, who had released the manifesto, said that the Bengaluru city always required a dedicated manifesto and called the city as the largest urban conglomerate, which contributes 70% of the Karnataka state revenue. 



Some of the key highlights of the manifesto include the following.  Formation of a metropolitan planning committee with active participation of the public, and abiding by revised master plan 2031, and also a city development plan. A 17000 crore budgeted local train project will be initiated, based on Mumbai local, and these trains will be between Bengaluru to Yashwanthpur, Yelahanka, Doddabalapur, Bangarpet, and will be auto signaled, double lined and electrified. Every 5 kms will have a platform as well.

The manifesto also includes the expansion of BMTC, while reducing fares by fifty percent. The manifesto also has plans for women squad for women safety, and the setting up of Bangalore lake conservation and development authority. It also has features to protect home buyers and children with new laws, and also implementation of CCTVs, and planting of more trees.
