An incident of an auto driver sexually abusing a 12-year-old child playing near her house and threatening to sexually exploit her again and again, in Padi, Chennai has sent shock waves. The violence and sexual abuse against girls have been rising every day in Chennai.
Recently in Ayanavaram in Chennai, a 13-year-old girl was sexually abused by 15 men over a period of 6 months continuously. This had created huge ripples and shock across the state, and later the accused were arrested under POCSO act and were imprisoned. In such a situation now this incident has happened.
A 12-year-old girl, daughter of a sanitation worker, living at Padi's Pudu Nagar who had been studying 8th standard, was suddenly having a health issue and was taken to hospital by her mother. It was found that the girl was 9 months pregnant, following which a police complaint was made and found that this heinous crime was done by an auto driver Ravi who had threatened and raped the girl. Ravi who has been jailed now already has a wife and two girl child.
