According to sources the family of one of the slain CRPF soldiers in the Pulwama terror attack of February 14 reacted to Tuesday’s airstrikes on JeM terror camps in Balakot, Chakoti and Muzaffarabad of Pakistan said that India avenged Pulwama deaths on a very significant day as per Hindu calendar. Meanwhile the family of Ramesh Yadav, a CRPF martyr said that they were elated that the government extracted revenge on the 13th day after the terror attack which had killed more than 42 CRPF soldiers.

They also said that they had completed the Tervi sanskar (or the 13th day ceremonies) of the fallen soldier when they learned of the news of retaliatory strikes and were therefore thought that poetic justice had been rendered. Earlier in Hindu tradition, the 13th day ceremony marks what is known as Vaikunta Samarohana or passage of the soul to Heaven after rituals to this effect and the 13th day significantly brings the mourning period to a closure.

Reportedly in the early hours of Tuesday (February 26, 2019), India launched a massive retaliatory airstrike against Pakistan in revenge for Pulwana terror attacks on Feb 14. Reports added over 300 terrorists and 25-27 handlers are believed to have been killed in the lightening airstrike described by India’s foreign secretary Vijay Gokhale as a non-military preemptive action.
