Presently farmers have taken to protest on Armoor highway on the demand over turmeric and Red sorghum remunerative prices. Furthermore India, being considered as one of the largest turmeric production in the world with 80%, has Nizamabad as the main hub. Reportedly one of the protesting farmers, Ganga Reddy, said to media that no one has been paying attention to their long time issues and hence, their JAC has decided to contest the elections with 1000 farmers from 200 villages.
