Chennai sources stated that the DMK finalized its seat sharing pacts with Thol Thirumavalavan’s VCK and Communist Party of India (CPI) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile as per the agreement inked between the three parties, the CPI and the VCK will get two seats each. When talking to reporters here VCK Chief Thol Thirumavalavan said the two constituencies would be decided later. He said his party would decide on whether to contest under its own symbol or under the DMK’s Rising Sun symbol.



He further said “The DMK led combine will win all the 40 Lok Sabha seats 39 in Tamilnadu and the lone Puducherry seat and now we fixed only on the numbers, peacefully and happily”. Previously, Thirumavalavan, held a meeting with the seat sharing committee of DMK at its headquarters Anna Arivalayam. Furthermore CPI State Secretary R. Mutharasan said following the smooth first round of talks held earlier, the agreement was finalized during the second round on Monday.

Moreover the DMK has signed seat sharing accord with the Congress allotting it nine seats in Tamilnadu besides the lone Puducherry seat, now with the CPI, VCK, while IUML and KDMK have been given one seat each. Apparently the DMK is holding talks with the Vaiko’s MDMK and CPI (M) and it is expected to finalize its alliance in a day or two.
