Accordingly Indian full service airline Vistara has launched an initiative to provide sanitary pads on-board its flights to women travelers on request, starting this International Women’s Day on March 8, 2019. Reportedly sanitary pads will be available on all domestic flights across the Vistara network and hence this initiative, Vistara claims, makes it the first Indian airline to offer sanitary pads on flights in India.
According to a statement from the airline, it will be providing ISO 9001:2015 certified, bio-degradable and organic sanitary napkins made from plant based fibers that are free of plastic, toxins and perfume. Furthermore passengers will be made aware of the facility through in-flight announcements, which will be made by the cabin crew on all flights that sanitary pads are now available on-board for customers to freely ask for it if they need it.
Moreover the initiative, which is being called, #PadsOnBoard, is part of Vistara’s focus on services and amenities for women travelers. Apparently this is in addition to the #VistaraWomanFlyer service that was launched in 2017 to provide certain benefits to solo women travelers.
